Memory

6 channels per CPU, up to 2933 MT/s with one DIMM per channel, 2666 MT/s with two. Faster modules work and run at the platform's speed. 2933 requires one DIMM per channel and a 2nd-gen Xeon. iDRAC will report an unbalanced population as a warning.

Socket LGA3647. Check the CPU is on your server's supported list, and that the BIOS is recent enough for it.
